On November 6, Eddie Buller was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame, honoring a career that has had a lasting impact on athletics and youth development throughout the South Bay.
A Legacy in South Bay High School Football
Eddie Buller is best known for his remarkable tenure at Oak Grove High School, where he served as head football coach for 23 seasons. During that time, he built one of the most respected high school football programs in Central Coast Section history, leading his teams to 18 league championships, five CCS titles, and more than 200 career wins.
Beyond the wins and titles, Eddie’s influence is most evident in the lives of his former players. Many credit him with providing structure, mentorship, and guidance during critical formative years, lessons that extended far beyond the football field. His approach to leadership emphasized accountability, character, and community, values that continue to define his legacy today.
A Valued Member of the Coyote Creek Community
At Coyote Creek Golf Club, Eddie brings that same spirit of leadership and connection into everything he does. Known for his welcoming demeanor and genuine kindness, he is a familiar and friendly presence among staff, members, and guests.
Eddie is also one of the club’s most engaged members, regularly participating in golf tournaments, club events, and social gatherings. His involvement reflects the sense of community that defines Coyote Creek and makes it more than just a place to play golf.
